A logistics workshop for young people in Tomaszów Mazowiecki

FM Foundation and FM Logistic organised a workshop on logistics for the young beneficiaries of our Polish partner Robinson, strengthening lasting links.

On February 14, 2025

FM Logistic employees, with the support of the FM Foundation, held a workshop on the topic of logistics last month for children and young people from the ‘Słoneczko’ children’s home in Tomaszów Mazowiecki, Poland. The event was part of a long-standing collaboration between the FM Foundation and the Robinson Foundation to support young people from foster homes.

A strong and lasting relationship

‘For several years, the FM Logistic teams and the young people from the ‘Słoneczko’ hostel have enjoyed a special relationship,’ points out Tomek Mikosiński, Senior Specialist QHSE and FM Foundation representative:

We have known each other and met regularly for many years. We particularly enjoy the moments shared over Christmas and Easter, as well as the wonderful Christmas choirs performed by the children on our platforms.

In May 2024, this relationship took on a new dimension with a football tournament organised by FM Logistic. In addition, initiatives such as Giving Tuesday helped Wiktoria, a young adult on the road to independence, thanks to a solidarity market. The involvement of the local teams in Tomaszów and Wolbórz was recognised by the Słoneczko Children’s Home, which awarded them the honorary title of ‘Friend of the Słoneczko Children’s Home’.

A fun and educational workshop

Hosted by Jarek Urbański, Warehouse Process Manager and experienced volunteer at the ‘What is logistics?’ workshop, participants were able to discover the basics of logistics while having fun at the same time. In his opinion, each new session brings its own challenges and innovations:

Organising these workshops is never boring, because we know who we’re doing it for. This time we had younger participants than usual, so their creativity and involvement was all the more impressive.

The workshop involved 16 beneficiaries, two FM Logistic employees and a total investment of 53 hours. The success of this event also depends on the involvement of the employees and, in Jarek’s case, his family:

‘It’s a bit like a family social affair,

he explains with a smile.

An involvement to the future

‘With this type of initiative, FM Foundation shows its involvement to supporting young people by offering them opportunities for learning, personal development and moments of conviviality,’ says Jarek Urbański :

We will continue to organise these workshops for the next 100 years!

Precious memories

The smiles and creativity of the young people from Tomaszów, the efforts of the volunteers and the energy shared during this workshop are further proof of the richness of this collaboration. For FM Logistic, it’s much more than just a workshop: it’s a story of friendship and solidarity that has continued over the years.

A fine example of social involvement, where logistics become a bridge between generations and communities.
